The Start of a New Year

Wow, I can't believe how long it has been since I've updated everyone. Where to start things off?

We had a wonderful Christmas filled with lots of great presents, delicious food and of course spending some much needed time with family. Carter enjoyed everything, but I think he liked the wrapping paper and boxes the most. :D

We rang in the New Year in a relaxed setting with some close friends, and that's just what we're hoping this year of 2011 brings. However, it's already been a very busy year so far. I got a (very) part time job at Victoria's Secret. It's been nice to interact with adults instead of just children for a change of scenary. I also am currently watching my newest niece for the month of February to March and then I start up nannying again on March 20th. I've really enjoyed my time off. I've spent time relaxing, by watching movies I've been wanting to see, crocheting, scrapbooking, and reading. I will miss all that time. I will also miss my one on one time with Carter, but I also miss earning money and spending time with the other children I care for. It will be good to get back into a solid routine.

We just got back from a trip to TX to visit my best friend Amanda. It was Geoff's first time flying since he was 14 and of course Carter's very first time. Both of my boys did very well. Carter struggled on our last plane on the way home, but it was almost 11:30 p.m. and he was so tired. Our trip was a lot of fun, it was good to see Amanda and her family. The wheather was fabulous, I feel like I just couldn't get enough of the sunshine and the warm breeze. I think for our first trip together as a family, it was a good one to take. I miss Amanda so much already, but I thankfully get to see her again in June. :D

Carter is 9 months old already and on his way to 10 months. I can hardly believe it. He's crawling everywhere, pulling himself up on things and cruising on all of the furniture. He has 4 teeth officially in and two more coming down. He hasn't said any official words yet, but loves to "talk." He also learned how to use a sippy cup and straw already and we're introducing the cup slowly. I'm sure it will take a long time to master that one. Next battle ... learning to stand on his own and then ... straight on to walking.

I suppose that's it for now!
